In Castagnole delle Lanze, among the UNESCO heritage hills of Langhe and Monferrato, “Nero Sublime – The Immersive Black Truffle Festival” is born, the first fair dedicated to the Summer Black Truffle in the province of Asti, with the aim of enhancing a variety still little explored but rich in gastronomic and cultural potential.

For three days, from June 20 to 22, 2025, the town of Castagnole delle Lanze, elected one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, will engage visitors, tourists, and the curious in an event filled with flavors, aromas, and culture.

The festival was created to promote the summer black truffle and wants to tell the truffle culture through immersive experiences, artistic and sensory paths, dinners, markets, and educational moments open to all.

Do not expect the classic fair but a truly new way to tell the story of the black truffle by involving all the senses and pairing this story with many activities suitable for a diverse audience.

The Mayor of Castagnole delle Lanze, Carlo Mancuso, declares that “with great pride and deep emotion, I present here in Castagnole delle Lanze ‘Nero Sublime,’ the first fair dedicated to the Summer Black Truffle in the province of Asti. An event that marks an important milestone in the enhancement of our territory, culture, and gastronomic excellences. Castagnole delle Lanze has always been a place of traditions, work, passion for the land and its fruits. On June 20, 21, and 22, we celebrate one of the most precious and lesser-known treasures of our hills: the summer black truffle, a symbol of biodiversity, balance with nature, and a peasant wisdom passed down through generations. ‘Nero Sublime’ is not just a fair: it is a cultural and territorial project. It is the result of collaboration among institutions, associations, producers, volunteers, and citizens.” The mayor continues by thanking all those who contributed to the realization of Nero Sublime: “To everyone who made this first edition possible goes my sincerest thanks. This event also aims to be an occasion for meeting, discovery, and celebration. A way to tell our town’s story to outsiders and rediscover it with new eyes for those who live here every day. I invite everyone to fully experience these three days of flavors, aromas, gastronomy, wines, and conviviality, confident that from now on, thanks to ‘Nero Sublime,’ Castagnole delle Lanze enriches itself with a new, important tradition. Enjoy the fair, everyone!”

The official inauguration will be held on Saturday, June 21 at 5:00 PM with an institutional toast in the heart of the town. On this occasion, the title of official patron of the event will be awarded to Gianluca Renzi, Resident Chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant Le Cattedrali Relais in Asti.

The entire weekend will be filled with activities designed for a diverse audience: tourists, enthusiasts, and families.

Antonio Degiacomi, President of the National Truffle Study Center, also emphasized the importance of this event: “There are various species and seasons of truffles, each with its own characteristics. The event in Castagnole delle Lanze allows discovering the summer black truffle, a resource well spread in Piedmont but so far not sufficiently valued: with its aroma, taste, culinary pairings to experiment with, and the always fascinating activity of the truffle hunters and their dogs.”

The event is promoted by the Municipality of Castagnole delle Lanze with the support of the Regional Council of Piedmont and the Piedmont Region, under the patronage of the Province of Asti and many local institutions. Prestigious organizations collaborate: the National Truffle Study Center, the MÚSES Academy, and the PTQ Association.
