The weekend of September 27–28, 2025 in Turin promises to be packed with events to bid farewell to summer and welcome autumn through culture, traditions, shows, markets, and festivals.
What to do in Turin on the weekend of September 27–28, 2025: food and wine festivals, fairs, street parties, markets, and cultural events to say goodbye to summer.
It all begins with the European Researchers’ Night, on September 26 and 27, which turns Turin into an open-air laboratory with more than 350 free activities: scientific escape rooms, workshops, shows and games, interactive experiments, and special openings of the Botanical Garden. A unique opportunity for both young and old to get closer to science, experiencing research not as a finish line but as a fascinating collective journey.
From September 26 to 28, the Turin Auto Show also returns: an open-air exhibition with more than 50 exhibitors and free test drives. This year’s highlight is a section dedicated to supercars—a parade sure to dazzle motor enthusiasts. Admission is free, making the event even more inclusive for families and the curious.
Adding flavor to the weekend is Play with Food – The Stage of Food, running September 27 to October 5, which brings to Turin performances and performing arts entirely dedicated to food. Founded in 2010, this multidisciplinary festival combines conviviality and creativity: performances, exhibitions, and tastings become collective experiences, with the table as a symbol of encounter and artistic exchange.
Sports lovers won’t be disappointed: On The Road – Turin Street Sports Festival runs September 25–27 at Parco Michelotti, offering the chance to try out spectacular urban disciplines such as skateboarding, vertical bike, parkour, pole dance, and aerial circus acrobatics—all for free. Fun fact: professional athletes will guide some sessions, teaching tricks and techniques of still little-known sports.
On Sunday, September 28, the Turin Photo Marathon 2025 will take over the city, turning it into an open-air photographic set. Participants will receive nine themes to develop within 24 hours, with three revealed every three hours: a creative way to see Turin through new eyes and transform its streets into a visual stage.
Also on Sunday, Parco del Valentino will burst with colors during the Cosplayer Run 2025, a charity run supporting the Association of Friends of Children with Heart Disease. It’s not just sport, but also an anime- and manga-inspired celebration, with themed music, cosplay contests, lightsaber workshops, and K-pop choreographies. A joyful event that blends fun with solidarity.
Culture takes center stage with the European Heritage Days 2025, on September 27–28, offering guided tours and special evening openings of museums and historic sites for just €1. This year’s theme, “Architectures: the art of building”, invites visitors to rediscover the city’s architectural landscapes, marking 50 years since the European Architectural Heritage Year of 1975.
From September 26 to 28, the Supersonix – Science Between the Notes festival explores the secrets of music and its impact on emotions, bringing musicians and neuroscientists together on stage. At the same time, the BabelebaB National Festival of Intercultural Choirs returns, offering the chance to hear voices from diverse cultures united in a single great harmony.
Creativity is also celebrated at the Turin Tattoo Convention 2025, September 26–28 at the Inalpi Arena, featuring top international artists and live shows that highlight the art of tattooing in all its forms.
From September 23 to 28, the Festival of Popular Arts 2025 enlivens the streets of Vanchiglia with free shows, workshops, concerts, and performances. The neighborhood transforms into an open-air theater where popular traditions are reinterpreted in a contemporary key.
Independent film fans can enjoy the Turin Underground Cinefest (September 25 – October 4), showcasing auteur works from around the world—often never screened in Italy—for an immersive journey into unconventional cinema.
Neighborhood celebrations are also on the program: on Saturday, September 27, Falchera in Festa will animate Piazza Astengo with activities for all ages and closing performances, while on Sunday, September 28, Via Nizza hosts the Autumn Festival, with food stalls, games, and rides for children. Also on Sunday, Barriera dl’Emme celebrates again in Piazza Foroni with stands, sports performances, music, dance shows, and a big evening concert.
For collectors and music lovers, Sunday, September 28 sees the return of the historic Record Fair in Piazza Madama Cristina, with more than 70 exhibitors offering vinyl, CDs, and rare finds from all over Italy—a true paradise for those seeking hard-to-find gems and the vibrant atmosphere of major music events. Meanwhile, Via C. Colombo transforms for Let’s Play in Crocetta, a free event featuring giant wooden games, inflatables, and artisan stalls.
The weekend is further enriched by ongoing events: Merktoberfest at Mercato Centrale (until October 5), the 19th edition of Just for Joy Street Art Festival (until October 5), the Festival of Sport & Districts on Display, the Torinodanza Festival 2025 with 32 international performances, the Festival of Hospitality, and the immersive sound trail To Listen To.
The weekend of September 27–28, 2025 in Turin is truly a mosaic of events and experiences: culture, music, sport, fairs, markets, and festivals transform the city into a vast open-air stage. All that’s left is to choose which initiative to dive into to say goodbye to summer and welcome autumn.
